Player Well-Being
At Oriental Sport Club, we have implemented protocols on and off the pitch to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our Athletes, Coaches, and Club Supporters. We lead by example on and off the pitch by respecting ourselves, our opponents, and our officials.
Player well-being is provided through consistent player development by simple yet effective teaching points that will help our players learn at a young age and continue to develop a lifelong bond to the sport throughout their youth and senior age groups and into adulthood. We are committed to encouraging skill development through well-planned training sessions, games and other activities. All sessions consider the athletes' varying skill levels and cater to their differing skill levels. Goals are set that are challenging yet realistic for all participants regardless of skill level. We strive to play a brand of progressive possession with purpose soccer that leverages our abilities on and off the ball and enables players to make good decisions within the context of the game. We believe in the power of working together and that we can achieve more significant goals when we combine our various skill sets. We will continue to build a community of encouragement where everyone feels supported and recognized for their contributions. We also look to develop skills where coaches model appropriate methods of communication with other members and members of the community. If conflicts do arise, they are dealt with in a respectful, professional manner.
We strive and continue to develop a skill set to provide a safe and inclusive sports environment that will help make sports rewarding and enriching for all. We have an awareness and appetite to deal with any issues around maltreatment in sports and make consistent efforts to adopt an approach where prevention of maltreatment is at the forefront. Our coaches, administrators, and volunteers are equipped to make decisions promoting athletes’ physical and mental well-being and fostering a culture contributing to athlete success.
Our ongoing goal is to ensure high integrity is maintained in all relationships within our Club. Adults interacting with young athletes in soccer should do so with integrity and respect for the individual. All adult actions in soccer should be guided by what is best for the individual and in the context of quality, open working relationships. Verbal, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse of any kind is unacceptable within soccer and its related activities.
